Another thing I'd like to borrow from a European nation

The Swiss model for healthcare ain't bad at all. Is it perfect, of course not, but it's a good idea. (HT Avik Roy) Add that to France's heavy subsidization (and less onerous regulations when it comes to building and re-using the nuclear material) of nuclear energy, Holland's drug laws, Ireland/Spain/Poland/Portugal abortion laws, and Denmark's "freer" economy. Although Denmark has a lot of social insurance on the back end, and the person I linked to in the Denmark comment mentions in the podcast mentioned here he finds the Singapore model to be more likely to work here, given how heterogenuous our country is.
