Interestingly, being from a "small town" (population < $500,000) seems to drive people to be "better" athletes. Also, people that "specialize" too early, have problems. Interesting thoughts on why in the comments. It is an interesting factoid. Although, I don't completely buy that if I had just practiced 10,000 hours in any one sport I would be a professional. I'm WAY too uncoordinated.
